Cooking Steps
In a large bowl, beat 2 1/4 cups flour, milk, 1/4 cup sugar, dry yeast, 6 tablespoons butter, vanilla extract and a pinch of salt with a mixer until smooth, about 5 minutes.
Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan and line it with the dough.
Cut the apples into slices and place them on top of the dough, pressing them down slightly.
In a separate bowl, combine 1 cup sugar, 3/4 cup flour, cinnamon, lemon zest, nutmeg and a pinch of salt.
Add 1/2 cup butter, rubbing it in with a knife until coarse crumbs form.
Let the dough rise for 30 minutes and preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius.
Bake the pie in the preheated oven until golden brown and the apples are soft (about 35 minutes).
Serve with tea when cool.
